Countdown Timer
An embeddable, iframe-friendly countdown in ten wedding motifs. Everything is configured through URL query parameters. There is no build step and no account needed.
Build your embed linkThe builder writes the URL for you, previews it on a pale and a dark backdrop, and gives you a copy button. The rest of this page documents the parameters by hand.
Nothing is painted behind the type
No theme draws a card, a panel, or a fill. What you get is the lettering, its ornament, and in a few motifs a hairline. Whatever the widget sits on shows through completely, which is what lets it belong to a Canva design or a photo instead of sitting on top of one.
The trade is that legibility depends on your backdrop. Every theme is drawn for one, and ?ink=light or ?ink=dark flips it for the other. If you would rather not think about it, set bg to a solid colour and the widget carries its own backdrop.
Embedding it
The widget fills whatever iframe box you give it, at a fixed 8:5 aspect ratio. Like an embedded video it scales up or down and letterboxes rather than distorting. Point an iframe at this widget's URL with your chosen parameters, sized close to an 8:5 ratio (e.g. 800x500, 1600x1000):
https://widget.nuptial-ph.com/countdown-timer?date=2026-12-25&theme=botanical&heading=The%20AndersonsThat URL is also a valid embed link on its own. Editors that unfurl links, such as Canva, Notion, and WordPress, resolve it through this site's oEmbed endpoint, so pasting the link is enough and you do not need the iframe tag.
If your embed frame does not match the 8:5 ratio, the widget centres itself and leaves the extra space on whichever axis is oversized. That margin is part of what gets captured on export or screenshot, so it is worth sizing the frame close to 8:5 for a tight fit.

?theme=tropicalQuery parameters
| Param | Example | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| date | ?date=2026-12-25 | (none) | The wedding date, as YYYY-MM-DD, parsed at local midnight in each viewer's timezone. Required. Without it the widget shows a setup hint instead of a countdown. |
| theme | ?theme=botanical | classic | Which of the ten motifs to use. See the list below for what each one looks like. |
| heading | ?heading=The%20Andersons | Forever | The large title text under the small label. |
| eyebrow | ?eyebrow=Save%20the%20date%20for | Counting down to | The small label shown above the heading. |
| ink | ?ink=light | (the theme's own) | Flips a theme's ink for the opposite backdrop. Use light over a dark photo or dark canvas, dark over pale ones. Nine themes ship dark; Enchanted ships light. |
| bg | ?bg=%23ede9fe | transparent | Paints a background behind the widget. Any valid CSS colour (hex, rgb(), hsl(), or a named colour). Leave it unset for most embeds, including anything dropped onto a Canva canvas. |
